The Totenkopfhütte of the PWV local group Maikammer got its name from the skull found here. Here on the Roman road, burial mounds were also found.

General opening hours:
Open on Saturdays and Sundays, on public holidays and bridging days from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In winter until 5 p.m. (mid-November to late February).

Easter opening times:
Good Friday is closed. Open on Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday.

summer regulation:
Open Tuesdays to Sundays during the summer school holidays in Rhineland-Palatinate. Monday is a rest day.

Opening hours:
Saturday I Sunday I public holiday I bridge days:
11 a.m. – 6 p.m
In winter until dark.
During the summer and autumn holidays in Rhineland-Palatinate, the hut is open daily.

Our clubhouse has a large interior, beautifully situated outdoor areas, a modern kitchen and plenty of parking space. It is located at an altitude of over 500 meters in the Palatinate Forest, directly on various hiking trails. The hut has been managed by our active members on a voluntary basis since 1966. Due to Corona, it is currently open with a slightly reduced menu on weekends and public holidays.

There is a playground and a climbing wall for the children, a free e-charging station for e-bikers and a changing table for our youngest guests.
Accessible for people with mobility problems
- Marked parking spaces for people with disabilities.
- Outside paths are easy to walk and drive on.
- The building is accessible without steps.
- All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised by the guest are accessible at ground level, including the toilet.
