This trailhead is special in at least two ways: it is your first encounter with the Gila River that will accompany you for quite some time along the Arizona Trail. There is also a very nice service offered by Old Time Pizza that is based in Kearny, the most trail friendly town on Earth. Call +1 520-363-5523 and get a pizza delivered to the trailhead. Otherwise, it's also worth hitchhiking to Kearny. In addition to the pizzeria, there is a supermarket, a hotel and a laundry.
