From Crag Hill, the central hub of the Lake District’s delightful North Western Fells, a fine grassy arm makes a beeline for the picturesque Buttermere Valley. Hikes to Whiteless Pike take you to the final high perch on this ridge, before it drops to the glistening lakes and homesteads below.

It is therefore a superb viewpoint for all things Buttermere and beyond, to giants such as Pillar, Great Gable and the Scafells.

Whiteless Pike is a 2,170-foot (660 m) Wainwright fell. It's most often hiked from Buttermere up a steep and sometimes scramble-y ascent. The best views of Rannerdale Knotts can be gained from the slopes of Whiteless Pike. The ridge to Wandope is really stunning but not technically difficult to hike.

Whiteless pike offers good views over the Scaffels, as well as Great Gable. To climb up the fell, Buttermere is a good starting point.

I came down to Whiteless Pike from Grasmoor. Had great views of it on the hike over. Glad I didn't come up it. Lovely little peak and it is a UK designated Nuttall.
