This park is in the Kildare neighbourhood and has an area of 1.72 ha. The name of this neighbourhood is taken from the county and town of Kildare in Ireland. St. Bridget (453-523) founded a nunnery there and changed the name from the Celtic words Druim Criaidh to Cill-dara, which means church of the oak. Kildare is the anglicized form of Cill-dara. The name reflects other Irish names in the area, including Kilkenny, Killarney and Londonderry.
