Everyone knows the laundry house in the shape of a Chinese tea pavilion. Inside, however, were very few. That's going to change. Soon.

The former Grand Ducal laundry room was renovated. The doors of the summer café open to guests on July 1st. For Architecture Day, boss Siegfried Zdila, Anke Zdila and Toni Hase had a dress rehearsal. the project was presented. The family business, which already has a name in the city with the restaurant "Live am Hafen", ventured into what is probably the most unusual house in Neustrelitz. A few years ago, Anke Zdila and Toni Hase pushed their prams past the house in the shape of a Chinese tea pavilion. "We thought that something should be done with it," Toni Hase recalled. The idea took on more concrete features. When the couple finally called the city, they were met with enthusiasm. They quickly realized what to expect when they took over the house: "No electricity, no water, nothing...", summarized Toni Hase.

The wood had been damaged, especially on the weather side towards the lake, so a carpenter had to lend a hand and take into account aspects of monument preservation. Now inside there is a counter, toilets and a door to the lake. This leads to a lakeside terrace, where guests can enjoy the summer with a café or a glass of wine. The families did not dare to take on the project alone. You brought the Neustrelitz architect Kerstin Heller on board.
