    La Vetta is the terminus of the Monte Generoso Railway at an altitude of 1601 m. The route begins on Lake Lugano at the Capolago Lago station at an altitude of 273 m above sea level. The climb is managed with a rack, type Abt, and a track of 800 mm. It is the only Swiss narrow-gauge rack railway south of the Alps. There are stops along the way at the Capolago-Riva San Vitale SBB train station at 274 m above sea level. M, am. There the track runs in front of the SBB reception building.
