The Burgas Bridge is one of the symbols of the city of Burgas and a popular place for walks among both citizens and visitors. The bridge in Burgas extends 300 meters into the sea and attracts tourists from near and far. The romantic nature of the bridge not only enchants with a unique view of the endless expanse of the sea, but also preserves the memory of numerous loving eyes and first kisses. From the 22-meter observatory, you can enjoy an incredible view of the mystical island of St. Anastasia. Built in 1936, the bridge had a metal structure, and the platform was constructed with wooden beams. It was connected to the panoramic promenade of the Sea Garden and the Sea Casino by a special stone staircase. In the 1980s, the old bridge was reconstructed with a massive concrete structure. The bridge is also an integral part of the traditions of the biggest Bulgarian holidays – St. Nicholas Day and Epiphany. Every year on St. Nicholas Day (the holiday of the city of Burgas), sailors throw wreaths from the bridge to commemorate fallen sailors and fishermen.
