The Lake Garda cycle path is increasingly taking shape and developing into a unique route for cyclists and pedestrians along the shores of the lake. After the now iconic section in Limone sul Garda, which captivated social media with its breathtaking views, there is now good news from Trentino.

On Thursday, March 20, the first section of the UF 1.2 route will open, connecting the Ponale underpass with the Orione Gallery. This approximately one-kilometer-long section is strategically important as it closes a significant gap in the cycle path network in the Trentino Lake Garda region and offers cyclists an even better connection along the lake.

A Path Through Tunnels and Spectacular Landscapes

The new route runs through existing tunnels as well as new passages specifically constructed for cyclists and pedestrians. The cycle path begins at the entrance to the Ponale underpass and ends at Sperone Beach, an area that will be completely redesigned as part of the project to create an attractive rest area overlooking Lake Garda.

The cycle and pedestrian platform will be built on the route of the old S.S. 45 bis, with a clear separation: 3 meters for cyclists and 1.5 meters for pedestrians. New protective measures, including avalanche galleries and rock reinforcements, ensure the necessary safety in the vulnerable areas.
