Out of gratitude that his daughter had not been badly injured in a car accident in 1932, Josef Koch made a vow to build a memorial cross.
He searched for a place and found it at a small stream on the circular route around the Rhonard.
However, it did not remain at the memorial cross, to the delight of the wanderers was still a bell that was driven by a water wheel.
Since then, the ringing sounds and delights the visitors.
Through the Kling Klong of the bells, the name Kreuzglöckchen became popular in the population.
