Deep in the Cairngorm National Park, hikes up Morrone place you in gorgeous surroundings without much effort at all. This hill rises above the pretty village of Braemar, which offers both car parking and has a bus service from Aberdeen. Campsites, hotels and a youth hostel make Braemar an ideal base for exploring the hiking trails up Morrone as well as the exquisite mountains and woodlands in the region.

The hike is not very exhausting and you will have fantastic views over the Cairngorm from the Corbett. If you do the hike in the late afternoon you may spot some stags on your way back to Breamer.

Seriously ugly concrete building at the top. Nicer to have a picnic a bit down the hill at the cairns.
