With hardly any transit traffic, a sporty 2,315-meter pass elevation, and a stunning panorama, the Albula is one of the most popular passes in the Alps among experienced cyclists.
The significantly harder route climbs the pass from Tiefencastel, gaining 1,280 meters in altitude. From La Punt, it's less than half that: 625 meters.
The Albula isn't just popular with cyclists, however; railway enthusiasts from all over the world enjoy the historic Rhaetian Railway. Opened in 1903, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of Swiss engineering.
