The first documented mention of Ludorf dates back to May 8, 1346, when the church was consecrated. Its unusual octagon is reminiscent of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and may have been brought by Knight Wipert von Morin around 1150, although this theory was refuted in 1860. Inside the church are a neo-Gothic pulpit from 1855, a neo-Gothic altar, and cabinet windows from 1680 from the old Priborn church. Other historic artifacts include candlesticks from 1688, 1699, and 1718, as well as a wrought-iron door to the crypt established in 1736. The bell in the roof of the western vestibule dates from 1709. The neo-Gothic furnishings also include an altar with a crucifixion scene and a brick pulpit with stucco reliefs. The organ, built by Friedrich Hermann Lütkemüller in 1854, has four stops on one manual.

The Ludorf village church was consecrated on May 8, 1346, but architectural evidence points to a much earlier origin in the 13th century. Its octagonal floor plan is extremely rare in northern Germany and suggests Byzantine and Romanesque models. According to legend, the church was built by the crusader Wipert von Morin, who was returning from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and was inspired by the construction of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The unusual architecture thus reflects not only religious symbolism but also the ideological influences of the Crusades.
