The signage system is intended to contribute to the development of the county's towns and villages by creating meeting places around cultural heritage. Visitors can listen to stories, watch films, or, for example, pick up an audio map to walk through the town and discover the exciting stories. In the long term, the integration of participatory features is planned, allowing visitors to leave their own stories about the town and thus help shape its history. Additional portals can be found in nine other towns, including Västervik, Bergkvara, and Påskallavik.
