Lora del Río, a stately town on the banks of the Guadalquivir

This town was founded by the Knights of the Order of Malta, from whom they adopted the veneration of the so-called Virgin of Setefilla, the patron saint of Lora del Río. The festival and pilgrimage in honor of this patron saint takes place every year in September and is considered the third most important in Andalusia. Numerous monasteries, churches, and stately palaces remain from the Order's legacy. This rich cultural heritage is part of the Route of the Order of Malta, which also passes through several other towns in the province of Seville.
