The 1,076 m2 Liebfrauensee serves as a water source for the fountain at the town hall and in summer as a thirst quencher for the citizens of Kissingen. The stream that rises at the Liebfrauensee flows, today built under the road surface, e.g. via the Bachstraße through the city center and ends in the Bad Kissinger Rosengarten. The originally open stream was once used to remove rubbish and (for example at today's Rathausplatz 5) to drive mills.
