I only really noticed this monument today, although I have passed it several times. The design is interesting because it is an approximately 15 meter high angular column (made of Thuringian tuff blocks) that widens towards the top.

The war memorial for the dead soldiers of World War I and World War II (added later) stands on a hill on the Waldreiterweg and was inaugurated on August 23, 1928.
It is an approximately 15 meter high square column made of Thuringian tufa blocks that widens towards the top. A "golden" sphere carrying a metal cross is attached to the grooved end plate and a slanted base. The monument square on the hill is supported from below by a natural stone wall.
