The tower is already the third building at this point: The first previous building was built in 1882. It was demolished in 1902 because of dilapidation and replaced by a new tower. Today's tower was built in 1932 as a closed timber construction on a concrete foundation. Until 2008 he was looked after by the local group Besigheim of the Swabian Alb Association; since then he has been in the care of the local group Juxkopf.

In 1936, the spartan Juxkopfhütte hiking home with 20 beds was built next to the tower; today the hiking home is open on Sundays and public holidays from April to October.

The platform of the Juxkopfturm located at a height of 18 meters offers a view of the Swabian-Franconian forest mountains. It also falls in the valleys of Jagst, Lauter, Neckar and Rems. You can also see the Stromberg (476.6 m) in the west and the northern Black Forest in the southwest. To the east, in the Mainhardt Forest, you can see the Großerlach telecommunications tower on the Hohen Brach (586.4 m; highest elevation in the Swabian-Franconian Forest). In the southeast you can see the Hagberg (585.2 m) with the Hagberg tower. Looking south-south-west to south-east you can see the Swabian Alb.

The Juxkopfturm is an observation tower in the natural area of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains. It is located in the Rems-Murr district of Baden-Württemberg in the Jux district of Spiegelberg (533.1 m above sea level). This Lower Jurassic dome is the second highest elevation of the Lowenstein Mountains. (Source: Wikipedia)
