Probably the most famous mountain in Iceland and for me another highlight.
The Kirkjufell, or Sugarloaf Mountain, once known by Danish sailors, shows itself from every perspective in a different form. The area around Grundarfjördur is known for its birdlife. Many ice gulls breed here, you have to be careful here as the iceworm mothers then attack the people from above and peck on the head.
The Kirkjufell is certainly a great photo opportunity because of its nature.
There is a small car park right next to the main road to see both Kirkjufell and the small Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall.
