The Iglesia Convento de San Diego is a historic convent located in Alhama de Granada. This convent was built in the 17th century and is a beautiful example of Baroque architecture. The convent is currently inhabited by a community of Poor Clares, an order of nuns.
The convent has a church with a Latin cross plan, a main nave covered with a barrel vault and side altars on either side. The choir is located at the back of the church, as is customary in convents, and there are some liturgical objects from the 18th century.
The central altar is in neo-Baroque style and contains a 17th century statue of the Immaculate Conception, attributed to Alonso de Mena. The convent also has a cloister with some murals with pastoral themes
