On the northern shore of the Römersee near Bad Rappenau are the foundations of a Roman estate, the Villa Rustica, which was excavated and restored in 1972 by the Baden-Württemberg State Monuments Office. It is freely accessible to visitors, but as it is not signposted, a bit difficult to find.

The Villa Rustica is an impressive Roman villa built around the 2nd century AD. It was part of a Roman estate and consisted of several buildings, including a cellar with niches and a light shaft, living quarters, a kitchen and a fire room. The well-preserved walls have been restored and are now open to visitors.
A visit to this historic site offers a fascinating insight into life during Roman times and is a wonderful destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.
