The Linnicher Mühlengraben begins above the Rurwehr, which ensures a constant flow. Mills were driven by water in Linnich and Brachelen. The watercourse changes its name several times and is called Teichbach from Brachelen. After about 12 km, it flows into the worm, but also has a connection back to the Rur via the Erlenbach stream.

"...The long-distance cycle path takes us along field and forest paths to a historic weir just before Linnich. The Rur flows past us with a rush. In the past, the Rur was dammed here and diverted via the mill ditches to supply the mills of the craft businesses in Linnich with hydroelectric power. Next to the weir there is a fish ladder that the fish can use to overcome the obstacle. Two panoramic loungers are here and invite you to linger, but unfortunately both are already occupied..."
