The memorial stone is a great gift for the town community, returning countrymen and visiting guests. It is said that stones absorb the energy of the place where they lie, so it is very gratifying that this large boulder, which today has become a memorial stone, on which the inscription “Balbieriškis” and the town’s symbol, a ship, are adorned, came from the town’s lands.
The memorial stone was unveiled by the initiator of the idea, Saulius Narūnas, and the head of UAB “Unipuras”, which made a boat for the stone, Remigijus Kapčiūnas. The stone project was prepared by the artist Dainius Jurevičius of the Prienai Culture and Leisure Centre, and the architect Rima Sodaitienė helped create the space for the stone.
