In these places stood the Sabinovská synagogue, the center of the local Jewish community.
On May 23, 1942, the first transport of 300 Jews, mostly women, children and the elderly, left for the concentration camp. More than 500 Jewish residents were deported from the city during the war.
During the war, it was used only as a warehouse for economic purposes. It was used to store grain that the German army did not have time to take away during its retreat, so on January 19, 1945, the Germans set the building on fire.
