Thomas Plack took over the winery in Galsaun in 1989 at just 19 years old and today manages five hectares of orchards and three hectares of vineyards. Plack defines the "new Vinschgau wines" as finely structured mountain wines with character that impressively reflect their terroir. Great importance is placed on sustainability and working in close proximity to nature, which is why the winery has been farmed organically since 2006.

On the steep terraces of the Tonnerberg, only Riesling is grown, which benefits from the high daytime temperatures and cool nights. The Krebsenrauth site produces grapes for Vernatsch, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc, while the leased area around the Kasten estate, the first vineyard area in the Vinschgau (since 1974), is also planted with Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc.
