The mountain church near Nimburg is a striking landmark in northern Breisgau and a popular destination for hikers and cyclists. The church is situated on a hill above the Rhine Valley and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside.

The mountain church dates back to the 11th century and has been rebuilt and expanded several times over the centuries. Today it presents itself as an imposing Romanesque building with Baroque elements.

The view from the mountain church of the Rhine Valley and the Vosges is particularly impressive. On a clear day you can see as far as the Swiss Alps. Various hiking trails lead from the church through the idyllic landscape of the Breisgau.

Cyclists also get their money's worth here: the cycle path along the Rhine runs directly below the mountain church and offers a wonderful view of the river and the surrounding vineyards.
