From the Marina this 🟦 trail was really enjoyable. The trail follows the terrain contours and as a result was mostly off camber with punchy climbs and descents. When you get to the old road you first cross a wetland area. It was really nice. It looked like a beaver had made a pond next to a lake. Lots of waterfowl, frogs and turtles. The road looked awful, water covering everywhere but really wasn’t muddy. I stayed in the „stream“ itself and found hard ground the whole time. I imagine if the lake was high there might not be a road so…Continuing onward you get a really nice view of the lake and then the ascent on the road back up the ridge. I took the trails to the east side of the road and had some challenging climbs. No big rock gardens but I still walked a few sections. On these trails I came across a dry stack stone foundation to a old structure and had a nice break. I was pedaling with my lowest gear a 30f, 42r and would have enjoyed a wider range. It gets pretty steep!
