The exit from Dien Bien was simple and spectacular as always in Vietnam, the rice fields and the mountains in the distance. After that it's tough, the beginning of the first climb was a bit intense because of the trucks that travel the route to the quarry, and the dust and sand that results. The road is quite broken in this part after passing the quarry we had a little respite, but the rest was just as intense on a beautiful climb of 1000m positive but the road is still not worse. After arriving at customs on the Vietnamese side and the 4 km route on the border of Laos everything went well. You have to do the visa in advance at the Laotian embassy in Hanoi which cost us 1050000 Dong. You have to get your passport stamped on the Vietnamese side and go show your passport on the Laos side and pay 10000 kip per person. And after that it was very simple with an easy descent to Muang Mai.
