The construction of this temple was a masterpiece. The "Miracle of the Sun" is particularly fascinating. 65 meters inside the temple, the sun god Ra, Rames II, and the imperial god Amun are illuminated by the sun at sunrise on February 22 and October 22, while Ptah, the god of darkness, remains in shadow the entire time.

Abu Simbel is an impressive archaeological site in Egypt, known for its monumental temples. The temples were built in the 13th century BC during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II and are famous for their enormous statues of Ramses II in front of the entrances. Abu Simbel is a very large temple dedicated to Pharaoh Ramses II. He ruled Egypt for over 60 years.
There is a giant key used by the temple guards to open and close the temple.
There are four 20-meter-high statues of Ramses II at the entrance. The temple is carved out of the rock. It was man-made from 1964 to 1968. At that time, the complex was saved from the floods of the reservoir as part of a UNESCO project. It was sawn into pieces and rebuilt true to the original, with only a 1-mm deviation. Twice a year, the rays of the rising sun strike three of the four statues of gods within. The smaller temple is dedicated to his wife Nefertari. At its entrance, you can see four Ramses and two statues of his wife Nefertari. In the background is Lake Nasser.
From Aswan to Abu Simbel, it takes three hours to drive there and back through the Sahara Desert.
