    The Anzenberg is a basalt cone 593 m above sea level. NN and is located two kilometers east of Kemnath on the B 22 Kemnath-Schönreuth in the district Tirschenreuth. It belongs to the tertiary volcanoes of the northern Upper Palatinate and consists of a Schlotbrekzie. A cross adorns the pointed rock group called Anzenstein on the rocky summit. Please pay attention during the ascent and descent, as it is very steep and in bad weather even more critical.

      Nice place with a wonderful view, unfortunately the information board is on the south driveway. Up here would be the much better position, the object "basalt cone" with several pinnacles right in front of you.

            The Anzenstein can be reached from two directions. The side towards Waldeck is recommended as it is not as steep. The other side is quite steep and can only be reached with a mountain bike by pushing it with a lot of effort. This path is great for a descent, but it is often not visible and can lead to problems with hikers.
