The Rußigmühle was built in 1849 by Carl Gottlob Rasche as a grinding and cutting mill for grain processing. It was only in operation for 6 years. In 1865 an inn was opened by Friedrich Russig. It is still run as an inn today. Open daily from 12pm to 9pm. Wednesday and Thursday are rest days.

In addition, the Rußigmühle is located directly on the "Großdeutschlandring". The 10-kilometre race track was built between 1933 and 1936 and was intended to replace the Nürburgring in terms of its importance. But then came World War II.

About 20 mills used the water power of the Polenz over the centuries, including the (Hohnsteiner) Russigmühle.

In 1849, Carl Gottlob Rasche established a
Built grinding and cutting mill, which then bore the name Neumühle.

In 1855 the mill passed to Friedrich Russig, who had previously operated the Bergschänke am Hockstein (today's Hocksteinschänke). In addition to the mill, an inn was built here after a few years. The Russig family name passed to the mill and inn.
