First there was the idea of tackling the plastic waste in the water, building a ship out of plastic waste and sailing around the world with it.
Now it has become much more: collecting the plastic waste on the islands, sorting it, shredding it, washing it and shaping it. Now chairs, tables and even planks for shipbuilding are made. The idea of a large sailing boat still exists.
Unfortunately the whole thing is not yet economically viable. And with subsidies you can always make nice things. It would probably be better not to produce all the plastic stuff in the first place.
