The "Hoffeld von Eisemroth" comprises a richly structured grassland mosaic with hedges, bushes and small forest stands, which was used as a community pasture for cattle and sheep until the 1950s. Grazing was replaced in the years from 1967 to 1993 by a military use by the Bundeswehr as a location training area. The area is characterized by its meager soils, on which particularly worth protecting smooth oat meadows, semi-dry grasslands, bristlegrass grasslands and moist pipe grass meadows thrive with an extraordinary species inventory. The numerous and diverse occurrence of strictly protected orchids is remarkable here. Characteristic of the former grazing is the formation of the bristle grass turf with heather, gorse and juniper stands, as can be found on the back of the "Hoffeld".
In addition to its floristic importance, the area is of great value for bird life. The networking of the open land with hedge structures and forest stands offers numerous, partly endangered bird species, optimal breeding and hunting habitat. The diversity of plants and locations also attracts many butterflies.
