Old Staaßen Bridge - favorite place with listening station

In the west, Jörg Ridderbusch has transformed an old seating area into an artistic object in the spirit of sustainability: Here, visitors can rest on marsh marigolds, lean their backs on reeds and watch dragonflies and frogs. Ridderbusch takes up the natural experience that many people associate with this unique nature reserve.

Visitors sit here next to the old Staaßen Bridge, the only original folding fen bridge in Augustfehn that was originally used to cross the Tief. It was moved to this location in 1993 because a new traffic solution was needed to cross the Aper Tief. At that time, the hiking trail that now connects this location with the town center was also created.

The bridge owes its name to the Staaßen family, who used to live next to the bridge. The name has been retained to this day.
