The old Berlin inn "Mutter Hoppe" is located right on the edge of the Nikolaiviertel on Rathausstrasse. In this restaurant, which opened in 1987, you can still eat "like your mother used to". If you're after typical "Berlin fare", you're in the right place here with, among other things, Berlin pork knuckle, Mutter Hoppe's Huguenot pan, braised pork knuckle, Schlachteplatte, meatball plate, giant cabbage roll or Berlin fried veal liver.
The ambience of the restaurant, whose rooms are in the basement of the building, matches the food and drinks. Props and accessories such as old barrels, tiled stoves, sewing machines, telephones and other everyday items from the past increase the feeling of being able to immerse yourself in the pre-global era in a culinary and contemplative way.
