Impressive amount of church for little city - but modest one was never really, when it came to the higher honor of God. What used to be a burden in the past, today pleases the eye.

The Peter-Paul-Kirche is the outstanding landmark of Bad Oldesloe. As early as 1150, the first church was consecrated to the Apostle Peter by Bishop Vicelin. So Peter was included in the coat of arms of Bad Oldesloe as the patron saint of the city. Today's late baroque brick building dates from 1757 - 1764. The architect was the Lübeck council builder Adam Soher. The tower was added in 1886.
The atmosphere of the church is particularly characterized by the stained glass windows in the choir room. They were designed by Siegfried Assmann in 1960.
