The family cemetery, hidden in the forest south of the quiet forest, is only announced by two Solling stones set up like a gate at the edge of the forest. Once discovered, it is a real eye-catcher. You can marvel at the graves of the von Garmissen family residing on the nearby manor, above all the bed by the royal Hanoverian forest master Otto von Garmissen (1823-1887), which was awarded a large tombstone. Not all grave sites are well cared for, however, and the ravages of time are clearly gnawing on some gravestones - some of the inscriptions are barely decipherable.
