The Wolkow castle rampart, also known as the "High Wall", is a Slavic fortification southwest of Wolkow, located on the edge of the forest on the Peene. A section of rampart with a surrounding moat and two gates are well preserved and recognizable. Early Slavic artefacts were found here, ceramic remains of the Sukow and Feldberg type, which were typical in the 7th to 9th centuries. This makes this structure at least 1100 years old.
