Hart Bar is an access point into the Warner Wetlands. The wetlands are remnants of a huge ancient lake and consist of a 40-mile chain of lakes separated by dunes. It is an important habitat for water fowl and migrating birds. Since there is no outlet to the lakes, some unique species can be found here like the endemic Warner Lakes Redband Trout and the Warner Sucker, a rare species of ray-finned fish.
There is a trail register and pit toilets at the trailhead.
