Franconia: authentic, exciting, smart. Anyone wanting to discover Franconia should start their journey at the Franconian Museum in Feuchtwangen. Here, visitors will discover facets of Franconian identity – and thus gain valuable insight into the region, its people, and their history.
The museum was founded in 1902 by the Association for Folk Art and Folklore. The association's stated goal was to collect and preserve the cultural assets of the rural population. An impressive collection quickly arose, which was exhibited in a historic half-timbered house in 1926. The collection focuses on Franconian furniture, folk art, and faience. The idyllic museum garden invites you to linger. Here, you can visit a hammer forge and a flax-breaking house.
The museum now has over 2,000 square meters of exhibition space. Various events and special exhibitions continually explore new topics.
