A rescue centre for wild animals is Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. Moholoholo is located in Hoedspruit and offers the opportunity to take a guided tour of the various wild animals. At Moholoholo, wild animals are rescued that are injured, have their territory too close to the human world or puppies that have lost their mother. In a 2-hour tour, you will learn a lot about the animals and their behaviour as well as how the rescue centre works.
Animals you can expect to see: lions, hyenas, cheetahs, lynx, wild dogs, vultures and a hippo. If you are lucky, the rangers will try to lure a cheetah to run past at full speed, very impressive. A visit to Moholoholo is highly recommended, even with children.
