There is something for everyone in the Noordheuvelbos: walkers and riders can enjoy nature, children can play in a large play area, dogs and their owners can romp around in the dog zone. There are various benches and picnic areas in the domain. Noordheuvel forms a forest complex together with De Kuyck in a predominantly agricultural area, they are managed by Natuur en Bos.
Paradise for frogs, toads and salamanders
The dry to moderately dry sandy soil is a very good forest soil, here mainly occupied with deciduous trees. Here and there you can find beautiful groups of prickly ferns and moss. The relatively old trees, 120 years, are attractive to cavity nesters such as black woodpecker, jackdaw, tit, tree creeper, pied flycatcher and tawny owl. The squirrel also finds plenty of food here. The amphibian pond is the ideal place for frogs, salamanders, toads but also for many insects. If you are curious about various nature facts, then definitely walk along the forest trail.
The start of the walking trail is provided at the Noordheuvel parking lot (Ertboringenweg). This walk, which you can also walk as an extension of the De Cuyckpad, is signposted with red posts.
