The Dalum-Wietmarscher Moor nature reserve near Füchtenfeld is part of a European bird sanctuary. Large parts of the 1580 hectare moor have been drained and are already re-wetted. These wetlands can regenerate and, with their wild and raised moorland-typical flora, offer perfect protection for waders and meadow birds. Lapwings, redshanks and the rare golden plover in particular, but also teals and curlews find ideal breeding conditions here. From a viewing hill and a viewing tower, you can enjoy a peaceful view of the nature reserve.
