The Monhardter Wasserstuben are located directly on the Floesserweg. But the access bridge is closed. They can only be properly explored with a guided tour.

For almost half a millennium rafting in Altensteig in the Black Forest was a profitable trade. Today, the Oberes Nagoldtal raftsmen's guild maintains the tradition of this legendary and tough profession.

At the Monhardter Wasserstube, which has been rebuilt according to the old model, there are regular rafting tours for young and old. Here, visitors learn everything about the heyday of this trade and experience the strenuous and at the same time adventurous work of the raftsmen. Fir trees are boiled in a huge Bäh oven and twisted into ropes, so-called Wieden. And finally, visitors also learn what a full-grown “Dutchman” is all about.
