Built in the second half of the 19th century, this small chapel (now in deep decay and total abandonment) dedicated to Saint Lucia was built in memory of the place where every year on December 13th pilgrims from the nearby districts of Fumarola and Vallegna converged to attend the liturgical rite officiated by Ostuni chaplains in honor of the Saint venerated in a nearby cave since 1213.
The Pompeian red of the façade with a trilobate portal and the dome on which rests a small lantern - supported by small pillars and shaped elements - surmounted by a small stone cross are striking in the description that Prof. Enza Aurisicchio made some time ago. Ref. Prof. Lorenzo Cirasino, former mayor of Ostuni from 1994 to 2002.
