The Chinese Garden is the oldest themed garden in Marzahn and has existed since 2000. It is dominated by the large lake with its water lilies and Chinese buildings. In the large teahouse on the east bank you can enjoy Chinese delicacies and in the so-called "Stone Boat" on the south bank you can even get married.

The name of a Chinese garden often refers to the life story of its owner. The Chinese Garden, planned in 1994 as part of a city partnership between Beijing and Berlin, bears the poetic name “Garden of the regained moon”, with the moon symbolizing the reunification of the once divided city of Berlin.

The Chinese Garden is the first "garden in the world" and an original work of Chinese garden culture. The main idea behind the design was to translate the ancient garden art from China into the present. The garden is both a new creation and a reminder and representation of Chinese culture, which enters into a symbolic dialogue with the city of Berlin.

In the center of the garden you will find the “mirror of heaven”: a 4,500 square meter lake, which is surrounded by richly planted hilly landscapes, various bridges, various buildings and squares.
