“Rohalj baze” was one of the most important locations of the partisan movement on Fruška Gora. The name of the site derives from the Rohalj family, who lived in the hamlet of Stari Divoš, around which this partisan stronghold began to form. Larger groups began gathering at “Rohalj baze” from March 1942 onwards. The 2nd Company of the Fruška Gora Detachment operated in this area. The location was chosen for its commanding view of the terrain sloping down from Fruška Gora, as well as its relative distance from major enemy strongholds. Throughout 1942, “Rohalj baze” became the most significant point in the whole of the Srem region. Underground warehouses for food storage, bakeries, and workshops for repairing clothing and weapons were established here. It was also a major mobilization center for volunteers from surrounding villages. “Rohalj baze” served as a key relay station for communication between Fruška Gora and the Bosut forests in the southwestern parts of Srem, which are connected with mountains in eastern Bosnia. From here, large convoys of people and food were sent to the Bosnian region. Despite fierce battles with the occupiers on several occasions, “Rohalj baze” remained one of the centers of liberated partisan territory until the end of the war. During the war, a partisan cemetery was established here, where numerous fighters and local residents were buried. As part of the efforts to develop significant memorial sites on Fruška Gora in the early 1970s, architect Milorad Berbakov artistically and architecturally shaped the existing partisan cemetery and surrounding area into a distinct memorial complex. Similar to “Jabuka,” the cemetery here was subtly arranged using a combination of oak wood and red marble, with stone blocks lining the access path and the platform in front of the mound. Within the memorial complex stands the reconstructed house of the Rohalj family, which served as a memorial museum. Near “Rohalj baze” at Šućak Springs, but outside the memorial complex, there is also a memorial fountain dedicated to the 2nd Company of the Fruška Gora Detachment.
