Saguaro National Park is home to the largest collection of giant Saguaro cacti in the world. The challenging climb to Mica Mountain at 2,600 meters rewards the hiker with a change in vegetation that is otherwise only experienced on a trip from Mexico to Canada.
Backcountry camping is prohibited and only permitted with a permit at the Grass Shack Campground or Manning Camp. You can apply for the permit using a form on the National Park website. One night is $ 8.
