Single track road over some extremely lumpy terrain. Maxes out at about 25% in one spot heading clockwise, 20% anticlockwise. Never a road to build up much speed, but the views on a good day somewhat make up for that. Very welcome cafe stops are available on the way - it's only just over 30km, but apparently manages nearly 1km of ascent while never getting more than about 140m above sea level. A great wee road, but not to be underestimated.
The road can also be busy with NC500 traffic, and though from my experience most motorists have been fine there are always exceptions.
