Nature parks
There are a number of protected areas in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. They are refuges for rare animal and plant species, because the animals and plants there enjoy special protection. Special habitats or large-scale landscape impressions are also protected from change in this way or further developed from a nature conservation perspective. Particularly important: without these areas, a region could not be declared a nature park at all. From a nature conservation perspective, they are the "cream of the crop" of a nature park.
