Beinn a'Chlaidheimh was a Munro up until 2012 when an accurate GPS height measurement reclassified it as a Corbett. At 913.6m (2999ft) it was just short of the 914.4m requirement for a Munro.
Still, when I finished my first round of Munros in 2000 it was very much a Munro. I would recommend anyone contemplating the Fisherfield Six round from Shenavall to include Beinn a'Chlaidheimh. Crossing the Abhainn Strath na Sealga is a requirement for this walk anyway so by then cllimbing Beinn a'Chlaidheimh is a much better start than doing Sgùrr Bàn first and of course you should be climbing your Corbetts as you climb your Munros anyway, not sequentially!
Beinn a'Chlaidheimh is a suberb viepoint for both Beinn Dearg Mòr and the normally unseen back side of An Teallach. The view over Strath na Sealga is very impressive.
This hill shouldn't be relegated to the sidelines, climb it and you won't be disappointed.
